I would like to point out a few flaws in this anti-GM rant: 1) The study was not based on GM crops, and your extrapolation that eating a new gene may change cell-cell interactions is true of any new food, including normal foods. 2) Conventional crop breeding involves new genes being introduced, which could also have adverse? effects on the human body 3) It talks about miRNA, not DNA. There is no way that miRNA would code for the pesticide as it would simply be too short

And you obviously have a clear and full understanding of the topic. As mentioned, the paper talks about the effects one particular NATURAL, NON GM miRNA has on removal of LDL cholesterol. Good science is about building on work like this, not taking one result and using it to create an entire video of unfounded assumptions. There are? a ton of studies that have shown GM foods to be safe (and one or two that contradict this). If you want me to upload them I can, but stop spouting crap.

In theory,? nothing may stop us printing an entire, living body. But it probably would not be conscious -- more like a person in a coma. In other words, we could not bioprint a mind (though maybe we could download a dying person's mind into a new bioprinted body).

Technology goes both ways. Every time something comes out that makes crime easier, other things come out that protect against it. Sure, photo ID becomes obsolete, so you must use other identification. The world is getting smaller, with cameras everywhere. If you commit a crime, it will become very hard to find a place to hide. Crime in the future? will only go down, not up.

What is freaky about face printing? Are people worried about identity theft? It already is easy to spoof your identity on the internet, you just get used to it, and there are ways to protect? against it. I love the idea of everyone being extremely attractive. Why should attractiveness only belong the few lucky people who are born that way? The future is going to be awesome!

Reshaping a face isn't wrong idiots. Say you need a new face from a burn, then it is okay. Please don't tell me you? would want to look old, teenagers don't think about that but you do when you are an old man/women. Also, anti-aging will probably allow people alive today to live well past 100 and by then maybe indefinitely, while that is another story all together - who wants to look 500 years old? I do not understand? people who say that face printing is scary. If you do not like something, do not do it, simple. I know many people who could use face printing because of scars and other conditions.

Printing out something more ferocious than a wild animal with shielding that no bullet can penetrate? And that's the issue -- where should/can the line be drawn? 30 years ago cosmetic surgery techniques were mainly applied for medical necessity. But once they developed,? they started to be used far more widely for vanity purposes. Bioprinting may go the same way. I'm not saying it should, but once the tools exist . . .

A great question! There is an initiative called the Blue Brain Project currently trying to model a human brain in computer software a neuron at a time, and some think it may develop consciousness. And I guess so too many an "empty" bioprinted human. But an adult that had never? grown up? How long would she/he take to learn to walk, speak, socialize -- or use the Internet? Fascinating question! :-)

Yes, finding the genetic triggers that may enable humans to grow new body parts (the genes that are shut down before or shortly after birth) offers? significant possibilities. Animals like crocodiles after all can still do this. And scientists have already isolated the gene that may allow a person to grow a new set of teeth in later life. This all said, if you suffered major internal organ failure a bioprinted replacement would probably be part of the best (and most rapid) treatment.

One of the first things Organovo successfully bioprinted was a chicken cardiac muscle -- which (after 70 hours of cell integration) actually started beating. So quite a feat, yes. But a feat I think? people and the tech are already up to. (Organovo was listed recently by MIT as one of the 50 most innovative companies in the world).

For regenerating tissue, yes -- absoutely. But bioprinting (or in? some instances bioprinted scaffolds or even inorganic 3D printer scaffolds) will still be "necessary" where existing tissue is badly damaged, diseased or no longer exists. An amputee could potentially be bioprinted a new leg, but would be unlikely to be able to use stem cell developments to grow a new one (well, perhaps). And of course stem cell, other genetic & bioprinting tech will all develop & be applied together.
