I appreciate your response to the video. Things don't need to be catastrophic in order for them to be traumatic. Any experience that although it is over has continued to have a negative effect can be considered trauma. That means that many prior experiences can contribute underneath the surface to? problems the person is currently having. In that sense the person could be suffering from PTSD. The good news is that those things can get cleared up and better for the person.

I've always been shy, withdrawn and all that even before my mother had her break... I don't discount that trauma like what a friend? of mine experienced in Iraq causes a disorder like this, but it really seems like in my case and many far less severe cases, it's a wrong diagnosis. I don't mean offense, I was just interested in what your opinion would be in response to this...

I was diagnosed with PTSD as a kid because my schizophrenic mom would lock me in a closet to hide me, slashed her wrists in front of me, turn off the TV cause the? FBI was watching, wouldn't let me go to school because I would be raped and left in the dumpster by the janitor and then she died when I was 11. The thing is, I have always and still am having a hard time believing this is a real thing. The symptoms are so generic, it sounds like a patchwork disorder or an educated guess...

I agree with you about the? medications. I have combat PTSD and I was prescribed over 30+ meds in a span of 4 years. 6 months ago I decided to stop taking meds even though I wasn't cured, I was still having strong symptoms. The meds are what stopped me from being able to cope with most of my symptoms. I'm doing way better since I've been off meds. I did a video about my PTSD symptoms. Thank you for your email. Although PTSD is most commonly thought of with veterans, many people show signs of post traumatic stress. You can know something was traumatic because if you recall it you have a negative? physical or emotional response. It doesn't matter whether the experience(s) were big or small, happened a long time ago or recent. From what you are describing, those symptoms are consistant with PTSD. Hi I'm a teenager and I know mostly veterans have ptsd but I'm kind of scarred I might. I have flashbacks everyday and even find it hard to drive a car now too without observing every detail on the streets. I dont even want to talk to anyone nowadays. Most of the time I just want to crawl in? a corner and just hope the next day will be ok. I use to love getting attention from people now I'm the complete opposite. Hi.. so my mom just passed away in December and idk if this is part of grief or if it's nothing because I know a lot of teens self diagnose these days.. but anyways I've been getting really anxious and nervous sometimes like when I'm outside I feel like everyone's watching me. One of the hardest things for me was figuring out what to do once the gov didnt want me anymore. felt like I was obsolete and for two years i was lost but I came through it and learned that I could still be useful and help other people. so now instead of protecting people with a weapon I protect them in healthcare field. for now thats what i need to do still might go back to school and become history teacher as i enjoy that dealing with broken bodies bothers you after awhile ?
