To cut a long story short, I was awakened int he middle of the night last night by an insane itching of my body. I googed everything i could and quickly worked out i had a case of hives. The images of the raised circular rash matched mine exactly. I took a zyrtec, watched tv and? eventually went back to bed at around 4.30am. When i got up this morning, there was no sign of anything. I'm glad it helped! Yeah, it probably won't mask it 100% if you're doing lots? of exercise in hot weather! But when you're not exercising, it guarantees you won't have an outbreak :) Which anti-histamine did you take? It works different with different people but I tried Cetirizine-Hydrochloride at first and it didn't do much, but loratadine works a treat for me! :)

i tried taking two anti-histamines before i had gym class(which i had to run a mile in almost 80 degree weather) and i did get? tiny little red bumps on the side of my neck and arms but it was far better than usually being covered in large red blotches. Thank you so much! :)

I have the same problem with high temperatures, but I've found it's not so much the heat, but the vast temperature change! You said something about living in Florida, but imagine walking into a house of 25c from a blizzard, I'm guessing it's the same but the other way round for you! As I've said to other people on here, I now take 2 10mg loratadine tablets a day and it completely? prevents hives occurring :)

Yeah I can't do owt these days without it flaring? up! haha all I can suggest is that you take loratadine, which is an anti-histamine allergy drug. It's easy to get hold of at most big supermarkets. It's cheap and normally comes in 10mg tablets, of which I take 2 a day and it completely masks the problem :)

I have acute urticaria? and eczema, it's hellish! The red weals are all over my body and it can be terribly sore. I'm currently on a prescribed antihistamine called Telfast which I take at night before bed because I? was having trouble sleeping with the itching which has helped a little. I've heard rose water and vinegar applied to the skin helps and a mint and brown sugar hot water drink helps with the itch too. It's actually quite relaxing. The needles leave you a? bit sore after the acupuncture session, but once that's over, usually people feel much more relaxed/less tense. It helped my mom recover since she had extreme back pains from too much garden work. Acupuncture relies on pressure points throughout the body, and placing the needles at those pressure points helps relieve pressure at those spots.

I don't like how they are blaming it all on the fashion industry. Isabelle suffered from anorexia BEFORE becoming a model. In fact, ED's are not the fashion industry's fault. People with anorexia may be insecure and seek attention, or are perfectionsists and when? they see they can't achieve perfection as it doesn't exist, they starve themselves to be perfect in at least ONE thing. If a person sees a skinny model and is not like that, they have way less chances of becoming anorexic.

I agree it's within the brain, it's stupidity. Over time, a person that is constantly bombarded with the idea that being boney is more attractive and healthier than having some meat on your bones fall into the trap and before you know it they start to believe that food is the enemy. I really admire Isabelle for speaking out! Anorexia is a? psychological disease just like depression. You can't just "snap out of it" even when you realize its dangers. It's really hard because it's like fighting against your own mind; like your own mind is tricking you. Some people may take 15+ years to really recover. I think Isabelle did the best she could and even more by spreading awareness about the disease.

I wish anorexia was? taught in school so people were more educated. I don't know much but what I do know is anorexia is about control most of all. A lot of people get it during a turbulent time in their lives when they feel the need to be in control of something and it turns out to be their bodies. Body perceptions and beauty ideals are only parts of it.

While i admire her? for going on pro anorexia and telling them that they shouldn't be doing what there doing to lose weight, I honestly think she should have sorted herself out before telling others what to do, also im confused "if you love life" why would you take your life away slowly and painfully? I wish counselors were allowed to recommend alternative therapies, not be limited by agencies and insurance to drug therapy. If we get the power to prescribe drugs, why not nondrug tx like supplements and herbs? We study the bad? effects of amphetamine use but are told this is the treatment of choice for kids with ADD/ADHD. Worse, kids' nervous systems are still developing. (scream)So glad for someone like Dr Amen!
