I've just starting watching this with English subtitles... and it wasn't easy to find here in the U.S.! I understand why it's so popular. My opinion may change after watching the original in its entirety-- but I think that AMC did a very good job adapting for a US audience. Most US remakes are a disaster... less dialog than their European counterparts,? dumbed down in general and often missing the mark entirely. Looking forward to an evening of Forbrydelsen!

This is very, very good!! And to think that I would never be so "artsie fartsie" to want to spend time watching a subtitled series. Especially 30 HOURS......

When I open up iTunes (the program on the computer) then click on iTunes store on the left hand side, then search for The Killing, it's still there. £32.99 for the whole series, or £1.89 per? episode. But going through Internet Explorer, it doesn't seem to find it. Which country are you in?

it's amazon dot co dot uk But I see that you are from the US, the UK edition is a region 2 DVD, you'd need a multi-region or? region-free DVD player. There's an Australian En subtitled DVD out, region-free, google for it. Another option is to google for an online 'supplier', slightly illegal.

Last year's Season 1 episodes repeated a few times a week; this year I saw no repeats at all on ION, ezxcept for a zillion 'Criminal Minds'. It's going to be super hard to watch on a Sunday night without repeats (or internet airings): take January 17, for example: ABC airs 'Brothers & Sisters,' ION's Durham County episode 3 or 4, FOX's '24' season premiere, and the Golden Globes on NBC. 'Masterpiece' graciously repeats early Tuesday morning. Come on, ION, give? your US fans some air time.

I agree, and that is what I meant in my post. She injects humanity and edge into any character she plays with confidence, so that you hear the voice inside? of her head telling her to "steel yourself" because she is going to do the impossible, make the tough decisions, and live with the consequences. I respect that in characters, as I respect in people in daily life.

No matter how strong and tough and awesome the characters are, she tends to play, MF always? give them a dimension of being on the edge, a deep melancholy, without falling back into any stereotype. This certain sadness, this intensity (in a subtle way) can get under your skin, and sometimes it is heartbreaking. But maybe it's just me. Don't know.
